How to create content?

Everyone will love you for posting festivals, tour dates and more!

So: take your time - you will find out it's not hard to contribute content yourself.

  • First of all, you have to be a member - so register! Choose a username, create an account for yourself (click on "Create new account" on the left).

  • The password gets sent to your email address (if you can't find it, please check your spam folder!).
  • After logging in, you have lots of possibilities. Writing comments on existing pages is the most easy way to express yourself. You can also edit your own user profile (just click on "My Account" on the left, then on "edit"): ...let people know where you are, or write something about yourself, upload a portrait photo etc.

  • Most important, you'll now find the line: "Create content" (in the bigger block left). Click it and try it out, or directly go to this page: http://folx.org/node/add
    • You could now post something in the forum or write a short article. And it's possible to keep your personal blog on www.folx.org. Write about experiences, what you do, where and when you are travelling etc.

    • Photos? Please post them, that's great!
Taken directly from your digital camera, they will usually be a little big (not speaking about the file size, but the dimension in pixels!). To make them smaller (like 600x800), there's software. For instance, try XNview. Or, even easier: the free picture resizer (haven't tested it, though).
If you don't have any software installed, you can also make this online with www.quickthumbnail.com (choose the size option "Resize by Fixed Sizes - 750px" for instance)!
Unless the photos are not huge, it should work right out of the box!

    • If you have loads of images you want to share: use the image upload function - it's a bit more complicated, but once you know how it works, a real timesaver for anything more than, let's say 10 or 20 photos. If you need a new image gallery for your photos: contact Stephan to get one created.
    • Tunes and songs (sheet music, lyrics...) and recordings (MP3 etc.) are always welcome, of course. Be it from a concert, session, an interview - or just ambience from an interesting situation. Just make sure there are no copyright issues!
