New Server, new joy :-)

After migrating to the new server last night, everything seems to be in perfect working order again... Step by step, I will add new functionality to www.folx.org in the next weeks. Everyone who wants to help is very welcome - please join the new group Folx Improvers Team, where we can discuss ideas and possibilities to make this website greater and greater ;-)

Weekend works: new features on folx.org !

My weekend work is finished, and I think the website made some progress:

  1. It's now possible to post photos without having to resize them. Maybe an advantage for everybody who does not work a lot with computers. You now can take your photos directly from your digicam and post them!

  2. New content types: you can now add your favourite events and links to www.folx.org!
  3. I thought a logo would be nice - so I just created one in "quick-and dirty" manner. But I think it's sweet ;-) Any comments?

Design and usability questions...

My momentary favourite is the theme called "Zen", which you now get when not being logged in. I really like its simplicity. What do you think? The same theme could, of course be adapted to different colors, for instance once again more greenish, if we prefer that.

It would be really important to me to learn to know, what you like and what not, where there are problems etc. - so, if as many as possible could take the time and just post a short comment, it would be great and a big help to know what to do most urgently to further develop this website.

Thanks a lot in advance! ;-)

Playing around with designs... ;-)

Just returned from England, I'm right now spending time with trying out many different themes and layout variations for www.folx.org

Try out different themes! You can easily switch between them. As a base for further designs, I find "iThemes" quite appealing. It's clear and well structured and looks good, at least on my screen. I would perhaps change the colours, though - bluish is a wee bit too cold for my taste. What do you think?
